Retirement Planning Webinars

Retirement planning is a journey, and having expert guidance along the way can make all the difference. SCERS hosts live webinars throughout the year to walk members through the key steps of preparing for retirement.

Each webinar covers topics such as eligibility, the benefit formula, payment options, and survivor benefits. Presenters also explain how to complete the necessary forms and what timelines to keep in mind. Because the sessions are live, you can ask questions directly and get answers from SCERS staff in real time.

​Upcoming webinar dates are listed on the Calendar page of scers.gov. This calendar is updated regularly so you can plan ahead and register for the sessions that work best for you.

Mid-Career Webinars are for members who are 10+ years away from retirement. These webinars are approximately one hour in length and are presented by SCERS only.

Joint Retirement Planning Webinars are tailored for members within a few years of retirement and include guest panelists (as available) from Sacramento County Employee Benefits Office, Fidelity Investments, Social Security Administration, MissionSquare Retirement, and Sacramento County Retired Employees Association. These webinars are 2.5 hours in length.

Webinars are conducted via Zoom and registration is required.
